Martha Wright, Mother of 4 children, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. She is actively involved in her local schools, church, and community. She loves the outdoors, all sports, cooking, reading, dancing and staging houses!

Originally from Lima–Peru, Martha and her family are longtime residents in Lewis County, participating actively in her community, her church and the area of business and one of her personal missions is to help the Hispanic community.

In the area of sports she has been very active in her local school, helping as a soccer coach for children of 8-12 years old, helping with the young cheerleaders and a very enthusiastic fan of her 4 children while playing, soccer, football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, track and many other communities and church activities they were involved.

An asset to the community, Martha was the founder of “Washington Hispanic Connections” and she was the organizer of the Washington Hispanic Festival” a two-day event that was held very successfully at the Centralia College for three consecutive years. Independently, Martha continues helping the Hispanic Community anytime she is needed.

Presently, Martha is a member of her local Hospital foundation association. The Foundation holds fundraisers throughout the year and then turns the proceeds into scholarships for hospital employees and equipment for the hospital. One of The largest fundraisers is the annual dinner auction on the first Saturday of October at the Morton Lions Hall. The event is filled with laughter and friendship and offers a wide variety of both silent and verbal auction items.

She is also very actively involved with her church serving throughout the years in the children primary, young woman program, teaching in the Relief Society Woman program and as a Seminary teacher for the youth of high school age for several years.



AS A CHILD, growing up in Lima, Peru  Martha’s parents inspired her to work hard and pursue her dreams. Her father enjoyed playing chess and pass on this same love to his children. Martha and her family spent many nights together enjoying the game of chess. Soon, she was strategically planning her moves on the game board, in school and in everything else she did. At an early age, she was able to predict her opponent’s moves and map out a wise response.


A Success Across The Board 

A very active and energetic young girl, Martha also loved sports, especially volleyball. Her parents sacrificed to buy her a leather volleyball and a net. Martha played in the streets and went to other neighborhoods to challenge kids to a match.; By the time she graduated from high school, the Minister of Tourism discover her talent. She was awarded a volleyball scholarship and played competitively throughout Lima, Martha’s desire to succeed was on!

Regardless of the challenges, Martha has always known the right moves that placed her in the next opportunity to succeed. She went on to work for several Law Firms and later for Lima’s Global Construction firms, managing internal projects and assisting executives. As she honed her skills she was promoted and helped her company with the legal process to bid on large projects. All the while, the lessons of the chess board never left her.
